The Atlanta Falcons announced a series of free agency signings and roster moves on March 9 as the NFL’s 2026 free agency period began. The team confirmed extensions, tenders, and plans to add several new players to its roster in the coming weeks.

These transactions are significant as they shape the team’s lineup for the upcoming season and reflect broader trends across the league during this critical period. The Falcons compete in the National Football League’s NFC South division, according to the official website.

Among the confirmed moves, cornerback Natrone Brooks received an extension after joining Atlanta as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Brooks has appeared in 26 games over two seasons with one start. Defensive end Elijah Garcia was tendered as an exclusive rights free agent; he joined Atlanta from the New York Giants’ practice squad in November 2025.

According to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, edge rusher Azeez Ojulari is expected to join Atlanta on a one-year deal following stints with the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that defensive lineman Chris Williams will also sign a one-year contract after playing for multiple teams including Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns. Linebacker Channing Tindall, previously with Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals, is set to join as well.

Additional reported signings include defensive end Cameron Thomas, wide receiver Jahan Dotson, veteran kicker Nick Folk—who led the league in field goal percentage last year—punter Jake Bailey, tight end Austin Hooper (a former Falcon), and wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus returning for another stint with Atlanta.

The Falcons are based in Atlanta, Georgia, according to their official website. The franchise began as an expansion team in 1965 and has advanced to the Super Bowl twice—in 1998 and again in 2016—as reported by their official site. Freddie the Falcon serves as their mascot.

Looking ahead, these additions aim to strengthen both offense and defense while providing depth across key positions. As teams finalize rosters before training camp, observers will watch how these changes impact performance during the upcoming season.
