The Atlanta Falcons Youth Fund, part of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, and Georgia Power have partnered with KABOOM! to build two playgrounds in Metro Atlanta. They are also launching a $400,000 Georgia Playspace Refresh Fund, offering up to $25,000 for communities across Georgia to renovate existing play structures.

Communities can apply for grants starting today at kaboom.org/gagrants until July 10, 2025. The grants can be used for various improvements such as building community gardens or repairing play equipment.

Chris Millman from AMB Sports and Entertainment highlighted the initiative’s alignment with increasing children’s physical activity. The first playground will be built at Randolf Medlock Park in Stone Mountain, which currently lacks a playspace despite its heavy use.

Design Days begin on May 22, allowing local children to contribute ideas for their ideal play structure. Representatives from the Falcons, Georgia Power, and KABOOM! will attend the launch event.

Fredie Carmichael of Georgia Power expressed enthusiasm about enhancing communities through this partnership with the Falcons and KABOOM!, emphasizing the importance of physical activity for youth.

Further details on the second playground will be announced later. For more information or to apply for a grant, visit kaboom.org/gagrants.
