Rep. Barry Loudermilk, who has represented Georgia’s 11th District in the U.S. Congress since 2015, shared a series of thoughts on various political topics through his social media account.
On May 6, 2025, Rep. Loudermilk raised questions about the commonalities between two significant events: January 6, 2021, and the Congressional Baseball practice shooting in 2017. He noted that for four years, “the FBI insisted that James Hodgkinson’s shooting at Republican members of Congress on a baseball field in Alexandria, Virginia on June 14, 2017 was not an act of” terrorism.
The following day, May 7, 2025, he addressed economic concerns related to government spending. Rep. Loudermilk commented on the justification for runaway government spending due to low borrowing costs by the U.S., questioning whether “the strength of our economy incentivizes the very behavior that weakens it.” He mentioned asking Secretary Scott Bessent about these issues and emphasized the importance of getting spending under control to maintain economic stability.
On May 8, 2025, Rep. Loudermilk expressed support for President Trump’s trade policies. He stated that America has been at a disadvantage in global trade for too long and praised President Trump for prioritizing America’s interests with a new trade deal involving one of its oldest allies as part of keeping promises.
Barry Loudermilk was born in Riverdale, Georgia in 1963 and resides in Cassville. He earned his BS from Wayland Baptist University in 1992 and served previously in both the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate before joining Congress.
