Barry Loudermilk, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 11th district since 2015, has been vocal on social media regarding significant legislative proposals. His recent tweets outline various tax reforms and educational initiatives that Republicans in Congress are advocating.

On July 3, 2025, Loudermilk tweeted about President Biden’s proposal for tax reforms. He stated that “@POTUS wants No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, and major tax relief for our seniors.” He emphasized the readiness of Republicans in Congress to advance this legislation, which aims to deliver substantial tax cuts for the working class.

Later that day, he highlighted an initiative involving the Child Tax Credit and savings accounts for newborns. According to his tweet at 16:38 UTC, “In addition to raising the Child Tax CREDIT to $2,200 per child,” the Build Back Better (BBB) plan would allow every U.S. citizen born between 2025 and 2028 to receive a Newborn Savings account with a $1,000 deposit from the Department of the Treasury.

At 17:41 UTC on the same day, Loudermilk addressed educational reforms through another tweet. He mentioned that “Our kids deserve a quality education.” The BBB includes provisions for a tax credit aimed at expanding school choice by allowing individual taxpayers to claim up to $1,700 annually when donating to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs).

Barry Loudermilk was born in Riverdale, Georgia in 1963 and currently resides in Cassville. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Before serving in Congress since replacing Phil Gingrey in 2015, he served in both the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate.
