Wide receiver Darnell Mooney remains questionable for the Atlanta Falcons’ upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after recovering from a shoulder injury sustained at the start of training camp in July. Mooney spoke with local media on Thursday, providing an update on his condition.

“I feel good,” Mooney said. “I mean, I don’t know about any percentage wise. Mentally, I feel good. Physically, I feel good.”

Head coach Raheem Morris stated that a final decision regarding Mooney’s participation will be made shortly before kickoff on Sunday.

“We’ve got a chance to wait up until that last minute,” Morris said. “Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to see one of our better players out there.”

The team will announce its inactives list 90 minutes prior to game time.

In addition to Mooney’s status, the Falcons have ruled out safety DeMarcco Hellams and offensive lineman Jack Nelson for Sunday’s game due to soft tissue injuries. Both players did not participate in practice throughout the week.

Friday’s practice report listed cornerback Clark Phillips III as a full participant despite a rib issue. Offensive tackle Jake Matthews, edge rusher Leonard Floyd, and defensive lineman David Onyemata were given rest days and did not participate but are not listed with injuries.
