Former Etowah High School standout Jacob Fletcher played on Sunday, May 18 in hopes of reaching the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship

On Sunday, May 18, former Etowah High School standout Jacob Fletcher’s current collegiate team the Tampa Spartans won 9-8 against the Mississippi Choctaws in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

The game took place at UT Baseball Field at 1 p.m. and was the third matchup against the Mississippi Choctaws in the tournament.

The Tampa Spartans’ next game will take place on Thursday, May 22 at 12 p.m. at UT Baseball Field.
