On Friday, May 30, former Etowah High School standout Caleb Hughes’ current collegiate team the Southern Miss Golden Eagles won 4-11 against the Columbia Lions in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship.

The game took place at Pete Taylor Park at 7 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Columbia Lions in the tournament.

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles’ next game will take place on Saturday, May 31 at 2:05 p.m. at Pete Taylor Park.
