Bella Jarrett passed away on October 19, 2007, at her home in Greenwich Village. She was born on February 9, 1926, in Adairsville, Georgia. Bella started acting in the 1950s with local theater groups in Atlanta, Houston, Boston, and Washington D.C. In the 1970s, she made her Broadway debut in Once in a Lifetime and Lolita. She appeared in Off-Broadway productions such as The Good Natur’d Man and The Waltz of the Toreadors. Bella also acted in television series like All My Children and The Doctors and films such as The Cotton Club and Hellfighters. In addition to acting, she wrote four romance novels under the pen name Belle Thorne. Bella was a member of Mensa International and worked with the Bedside Network to help chronically ill patients. She remained connected to her hometown of Adairsville throughout her life.
