Rep. Barry Loudermilk, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of statements on social media in early January 2026 addressing recent international and domestic developments.
On January 3, 2026, Loudermilk offered his congratulations to the former president for authorizing an operation that resulted in a significant change in Venezuela’s leadership. He stated: “I congratulate President Trump on decisive and courageous action in authorizing the operation that led to the capture of Nicolás Maduro, bringing an end to the tyrannical regime that has inflicted immense suffering on the Venezuelan people. I also extend deepest appreciation to”.
Two days later, on January 5, Loudermilk endorsed remarks by another official regarding U.S. policy toward threats within the Western Hemisphere. He wrote: “An excellent summation by @SecRubio. The United States will not allow our enemies to operate in our hemisphere and threaten the safety of our country.”
On January 6, he addressed domestic political issues related to congressional investigations, posting: “Democrat’s January 6 Select Committee was never about uncovering the truth or fixing the security failures—it was a partisan exercise designed to advance a narrative to target President Trump and his political allies. Barry Loudermilk has held his seat through multiple election cycles, defeating Antonio Daza in 2022 with over 62% of the vote, Katy Stamper in 2024 with nearly 66%, Dana Barrett in 2020 with just over 60%, Flynn Broady Jr. in 2018 with almost 62%, and Don Wilson in 2016 with more than two-thirds of votes cast.
