Rep. Barry Loudermilk, who represents Georgia’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates regarding his ongoing investigation into the events of January 6, 2021, as well as his recent discussions on military modernization with Secretary Hegseth at the Pentagon.

On July 23, 2025, Loudermilk stated, “From my subcommittee investigation in the 118th Congress, we uncovered that what happened at the Capitol that day was the result of a series of intelligence, security, and leadership failures at multiple levels within numerous entities. While my subcommittee did an incredible job”. That same day, he added: “I am honored to continue the investigation into the events surrounding January 6, 2021, and the failures that led to the breach of the U.S. Capitol.”

The following day on July 24, Loudermilk shared details about a meeting at the Pentagon: “An informative meeting with Secretary Hegseth at the Pentagon yesterday. We discussed modernization of our military, including procurement production reforms and new aerial platforms, like the C130s. Secretary Hegseth is leading the charge in restoring the warrior ethos in all”.

Barry Loudermilk has represented Georgia’s 11th District since replacing Phil Gingrey in 2015 and previously served in both chambers of Georgia’s legislature as well as chairing the Bartow County Republican Party (https://bioguideretro.congress.gov/Home/MemberDetails?memIndex=L000583). He was born in Riverdale, Georgia in 1963 and resides in Cassville. Loudermilk graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
