Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard has been named the Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played between August 25 and August 30, according to an announcement by the WNBA. This is Howard’s first weekly honor of the 2025 season and the second of her career.

During that week, Howard averaged 21.5 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game. Her performance helped Atlanta during a critical period in their schedule.

On August 29 against the Dallas Wings, Howard scored a game-high 23 points and became the first player in WNBA history to record six blocks and six three-pointers in a single game. Atlanta scored over 100 points for the first time this season in that win, which also secured a playoff spot for the team. Additionally, Howard joined Diana Taurasi as one of only two players in league history with at least 20 points and five blocks in a single contest. Her six blocks set a personal best and made her the only guard in the league this season to reach that total.

Earlier in the week on August 27 against Las Vegas, Howard shared team scoring honors with 19 points and led with seven assists along with four rebounds during a close loss.

The Dream continue their strong season, achieving their franchise-record 24th win in August and marking just their third season with more than 20 victories since joining the league. With their recent win over Dallas, Atlanta improved to a record of 26-14 and clinched a playoff berth. The team is currently tied for second place as they approach their final four regular-season games.

The Atlanta Dream was established in Atlanta in 2008 as the Southeast’s only WNBA franchise. Home games are played at Gateway Center Arena @ College Park, and local broadcasts are available on Atlanta News First (WANF-TV). Since its founding, Atlanta has produced multiple All-Stars, earned numerous playoff appearances, and reached the WNBA Finals three times.
