Reinhardt welcomes Mike Dickinson as a full-time police officer with the Department of Public Safety and Campus Police.
“We are very fortunate and excited to have Officer Dickinson join our staff at Reinhardt. He brings a wealth of law enforcement experience and has worked in a variety of areas during his time with the Atlanta Police Department,” touted Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police Jay Duncan.
Dickinson previously worked for the APD for about 28 years. His experience includes patrol, general investigation, being an airport security trainer, and being on an active shooter tactical team.
Duncan added, “After completing the field training program, he will be assigned to night shift where I anticipate him partnering with Student Affairs to provide valuable training, as well as education and awareness programs to our students.”
“I am enjoying the atmosphere of the college campus,” Dickinson says. “I like the atmosphere and it is community oriented. Everybody is nice and everybody is happy. It’s fresh air.”
Dickinson lives in Talking Rock, Georgia. He has three children, ages 10, 12 and 14. He enjoys riding motorcycles and playing with his dogs.
