4.1% of Cherokee County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Cherokee County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 5,746 people out of the 262,155 living in Cherokee County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Cherokee County has increased compared to the 3.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Cherokee County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.5%.

Of the 135,425 people who had a job during that time, 151 were employed in the Armed Forces and 135,274 belonged to the civilian labor force.
