The Atlanta Falcons demonstrated significant improvement in their performance from Week 1 to Week 2, transitioning from a disappointing loss to a comeback victory.

The primary difference between the two games was the Falcons' offensive unit. In their season-opening 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the offense struggled. However, they managed a prime-time 22-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on the road at Lincoln Financial Field.

This shift prompted discussion among editorial staff members Tori McElhaney, Terrin Waack, and Amna Subhan regarding where the Falcons proved themselves most in their Monday Night Football win. Will McFadden did not participate due to being on vacation.

Tori McElhaney highlighted the effectiveness of the team's two-minute drill. "The Falcons had 1:39 to drive 70 yards downfield, score and win. They did it in less time than that," she said. She praised quarterback Kirk Cousins for his composure and command during this crucial drive. "Kirk Cousins was poised and firm in the pocket... He commanded the operation like that of the true veteran of which he is."

After the game, players echoed this sentiment. Bijan Robinson stated, "That's how our offense is. That's the real offense right there." Darnell Mooney added, "This is the expectation that we all see with our offense."

Terrin Waack focused on how better utilization of wide receivers Drake London and Darnell Mooney contributed to overall team success. The duo combined for significantly improved statistics compared to Week 1. London had six receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown, while Mooney recorded three receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown against Philadelphia.

Waack noted that this increased production did not come at others' expense; running back Bijan Robinson still had an impressive performance with 97 rushing yards and additional receiving contributions. Quarterback Kirk Cousins effectively distributed the ball among various players, leading to a well-balanced offensive effort.

Amna Subhan pointed out improvements in the run game as another key factor in their success. The Falcons increased their total rushing yards from 89 in Week 1 to 152 against Philadelphia. Bijan Robinson's performance was particularly noteworthy with creative play-calling leading to more yardage gains.

Subhan also mentioned Tyler Allgeier's increased involvement as contributing positively to Atlanta's ground game efficiency.

Looking ahead, Subhan expressed hope for continued consistency against future opponents like Kansas City.
