Despite being recognized as the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, Troy Andersen will not participate in the Falcons' upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Raheem Morris confirmed on Wednesday that Andersen is ruled out due to a knee injury sustained during last Sunday's match against the Saints. This injury occurred after Andersen achieved a career-high 16 tackles and his first pick-six.

With Nate Landman still on injured reserve, rookie inside linebacker JD Bertrand is expected to step in alongside Kaden Elliss. Bertrand, who was drafted in the fifth round, played eight defensive snaps against New Orleans. Defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake expressed confidence in Bertrand's ability to maintain performance levels, stating, "We can see and feel his football instincts."

In other updates, Kaleb McGary appears ready to return after missing last Sunday's game due to an MCL sprain suffered in Week 3. He participated fully in Wednesday's practice and did not receive a game designation, indicating he is likely to resume his role as starting right tackle.

Additionally, offensive players Bijan Robinson and Ray-Ray McCloud III were full participants in practice and are expected to be active for Thursday's game. Rookie running back Jase McClellan was limited by an illness and is listed as questionable.

The Falcons' weekly injury report provides further details ahead of their matchup with the Buccaneers.
