The Atlanta Falcons have announced that inside linebacker Troy Andersen will not play in their upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers due to a knee injury. Andersen missed all of the team's practices this week and was officially listed as out on Friday's game report.

This marks the second consecutive game Andersen will miss following an injury sustained during the Falcons' victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 4. In that game, he earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors with 16 tackles and a pick-six.

There is potential positive news for the Falcons' linebackers. Nate Landman, who has been on injured reserve since before Week 2 due to calf and quad injuries, participated in three limited practices after being designated to return from IR on Monday. He is currently listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Should Landman be able to play, he is expected to reclaim his starting position alongside Kaden Elliss. If not, rookie JD Bertrand may see increased playing time for a second straight week.

Andersen and Landman are the only players noted in Atlanta's game report, indicating relatively good health for the team as they approach Week 6.

Additionally, running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Darnell Mooney practiced fully on Friday after being limited earlier in the week due to hamstring and knee issues, respectively. Cornerback Dee Alford also completed his second full practice following his initial placement in concussion protocol at the start of the week.
