Cherokee Man Facing Child Sex Crime Charges

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office recently issued the following announcement.

A Southeast Kansas man is being held without bond in the Cherokee County Jail, facing numerous allegations of child sex crimes.

Richard Anthony Sanchez, 30, of Cherokee, was taken into custody by Cherokee County Sheriff's Investigators Wednesday, following a month-long investigation.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant for Sanchez was issued in Cherokee County District Court charging him with Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child, Attempted Indecent Liberties with a Child, Criminal Solicitation of a Child, Attempted Rape and Aggravated Intimidation of a Witness.
