Rep. Barry Loudermilk, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 11th district, has expressed concerns about the challenges faced by small businesses due to complex beneficial ownership reporting requirements. Through a series of tweets, he discussed legislative efforts aimed at addressing these issues and commemorated President Abraham Lincoln's legacy.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Loudermilk tweeted about the challenges small businesses face due to inadequate education on complex beneficial ownership reporting requirements by FinCEN. He stated: "Small businesses are the backbone of our nation’s economy, but FinCEN has failed to properly educate them about complex beneficial ownership reporting requirements, leaving them liable for penalties." He further mentioned his support for Zach Nunn’s bill titled "Protect Small Business from Excessive Penalties."

In another tweet on the same day, Rep. Loudermilk shared his legislative actions concerning the FY25 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations bill. He stated: "Also, I’ve added language in the FY25 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations bill with @RepMcCormick to force FinCEN to re-propose the rule — to better align it with Congressional intent."

On February 12, 2025, Rep. Loudermilk paid tribute to President Abraham Lincoln on his birthday through a tweet that read: "Happy Birthday President Abraham Lincoln! He led our country through dark days with humility, grace, and integrity. We honor his bold, unwavering vision to move our nation closer to that more perfect union."
