Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia's 11th District has expressed his support for the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Resolution (H. Con. Res 14), which was recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. According to Rep. Loudermilk, this budget blueprint is intended to align with President Trump's and Congress's America-First Agenda.
"Our bloated federal spending is catapulting this nation towards bankruptcy and steering crucial programs towards insolvency," said Rep. Loudermilk, emphasizing the need for change. He noted that on November 5, seventy-seven million Americans provided a mandate to bring common sense back to government, reduce wasteful spending, and secure national borders.
House Republicans have put forward a budget initiative aimed at reducing federal expenditure and enhancing national security and economic opportunities. The resolution sets a framework for government reform, aiming to identify and eliminate inefficiencies within federal agencies while cutting taxes and boosting American energy production.
The FY25 Budget Resolution includes reconciliation instructions that require significant savings across various committees over ten years: $880 billion from Energy and Commerce, $330 billion from Education and Workforce, $230 billion from Agriculture, $50 billion from Oversight and Government Reform, $10 billion from Transportation and Infrastructure, and $1 billion each from Natural Resources and Financial Services.
Additionally, the resolution allows for substantial investment in tax reform, border security, and defense with allocations such as up to $100 billion for national defense through Armed Services; up to $90 billion for border security via Homeland Security; up to $110 billion for border security through the Judiciary Committee; and provides $4.5 trillion through Ways and Means to prevent tax hikes aligned with President Trump's priorities.
The budget aims to grow the economy by an estimated $2.6 trillion over ten years by maintaining tax cuts, reducing regulations established during the Biden administration era, restoring work dignity, and promoting American energy dominance.
Rep. Loudermilk urges the Senate to pass a budget reconciliation package swiftly in order to fulfill promises made to the American people.
