The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, titled "Police State," will be shown at a Canton movie theater on October 23 and October 25.
The film explores what D’Souza refers to as "police state" activity by the government, from the post-9/11 "Patriot Act" to recent instances of COVID lockdowns, social media censorship, and the prosecution of concerned parents at school board meetings. It also delves into the surveillance and detention of Americans who were in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021.
D’Souza expressed his surprise at the timing of the movie, stating, "I honestly wouldn't have believed, prior to the 2020 election and prior to Biden coming to office, that I’d be making this movie. Which really shows that we have seen a speedy introduction of the police state on many different levels."
The film features D’Souza himself, as well as actor Nick Searcy, and includes interviews with U.S. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R), radio host Dan Bongino, and several government whistleblowers.
The movie's trailer has garnered 74 million views on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) as of publication time.
The Canton showing of "Police State" will take place at AMC Riverstone 15, located at 5 Reinhardt College Pkwy., with screenings at 7 p.m. on October 23 and October 25. Additional screenings can be found in Atlanta, Brunswick, Evans, Savannah, and other communities on the movie's website.
