School Council Nominations

Woodstock High School issued the following announcement on July 16.

Woodstock High School (WHS) currently has four (4) openings available on the WHS School Council for the upcoming school year. Serving on the School Council is an opportunity for parents/guardians to come together with school administration, teachers, and business leaders in our community to participate in the school improvement and student achievement process. School councils shall provide advice, recommendations, and assistance related to topics encompassing the total school environment and represents the community of parents and businesses.

The requirements for the open positions state that you must be a parent or guardian of a student currently enrolled at Woodstock High School. Interested individuals must be willing to serve for a two-year term and attend quarterly meetings at the school.

The meetings for the 2021 – 2022 school year are as follows:

  • Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
If you would be interested in nominating someone or yourself, please send a nomination in writing, letter, or e-mail to Mark Smith, Principal at WHS. Mr. Smith’s e-mail is mark.smith@cherokeek12.net.  All nominations must be received by Friday, August 20, 2021. Please include in your nomination the parent(s)/guardian(s) name, student name, contact information (phone number, e-mail, etc.) and home address.

Elections will be held at during our WHS Curriculum Night in September 2021 with the highest vote recipients joining the School Council. Only one vote per household is allowed.
