Cherokee High School recently issued the following announcement.
Cherokee County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower this week participated in the annual “State of the County” program.
Presented by the regional Council for Quality Growth nonprofit organization, the luncheon on Wednesday featured reports by Cherokee County Board of Commissioners Chairman Harry Johnston, Cherokee Office of Economic Development President Misti Martin and Dr. Hightower.
Nearly 300 elected officials and economic development and business leaders from throughout Cherokee County and metro Atlanta attended the sold-out event held at the Northside Cherokee Conference Center at The Bluffs.
Dr. Hightower gave an abbreviated version of his presentation from the December School Board meeting, which reviewed the Cherokee County School District’s new annual report, “Evidence of Success: 10 Amazing Things We’ve Done in 2021.”
In addition to Dr. Hightower’s comments Wednesday about the successes of CCSD over the past year and future goals, both Ms. Martin and Chairman Johnston issued accolades for the school district and its positive impact on economic development, with the latter describing it as the county’s No. 1 man-made resource.
