City of Woodstock recently issued the following announcement.
Woodstock officials announced the city will be celebrating “Georgia Cities Week” April 24-30. The city will hold a variety of events throughout the week, including a Touch-a-Truck event, a Town Hall Open House, a Homeownership Webinar, and a Cheers with the Mayor event. The theme of this year’s Georgia Cities Week is “Shaping the Future.”
“We’re very proud of our city and the services we provide that make it attractive to residents and visitors,” said Mayor Michael Caldwell. “Cities provide the services and infrastructure to help businesses grow and set the stage for events where families and individuals can gather as a community.”
Events planned for the week are: Coloring Contest Party hosted by Woodstock Arts on Sunday, April 24th from 3pm to 5pm at the Woodstock Arts Event Green; Touch-a-Truck on Monday, April 25th from 4 to 6 pm at The Park at City Center; Town Hall Open House on Monday, April 25th at 6pm at The Chambers at City Center; Homeownership Webinar on Wednesday, April 27th at 12 pm via Zoom (register at inwdstk.org/events); Cheers with the Mayor on Thursday, April 28th at 6 pm at Reformation Brewery; Downtown Walking Tours on the evening of Thursday, April 28th beginning at the Woodstock Visitors Center; IN WDSTK’s Morning Influence on Sustainability on Friday, April 29th at 8 am at The Chambers at City Center; City Wide Yard Sale is the weekend of April 30th – find details at woodstockparksandrec.com; Greenstock Day Recycling and Paper Shredding Event on Saturday April 30th from 9 am to 1 pm at Woodstock Elementary School; Farm Fresh Market on Saturday, April 30th from 8:30 am to noon on Market Street in Downtown Woodstock; Amnesty Month until 5 pm on Friday, April 29th at the Municipal Court; and Discover Woodstock Scavenger Hunt through April 30th at the Woodstock Visitors Center.
Cities across Georgia will be celebrating Georgia Cities Week, sponsored by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), to showcase and celebrate cities and the many services they provide. Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and consulting services to its 538 member cities.
