There were 3,299 African American students enrolled in Cherokee County school district in the 2022-23 school year, 0.2% less than the previous year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Data showed that Cherokee County school district welcomed 41,248 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 8% of the student body to be the third most represented ethnicity in the county's school district.

This is the only school district located within Cherokee County, with its main office in Canton.
